Saint Irene of Chrysovalantou Church

Saint Irene of Chrysovalantou ChurchSaint Irene of Chrysovalantou ChurchSaint Irene of Chrysovalantou Church

Dear Reverend Clergy and Faithful of the Holy Metropolis,

With the blessing of Metropolitan Demetrius, we joyfully announce the upcoming celebration of our parish feast day, the commemoration of Our Venerable Mother Irene of Chrysovalantou, on 28 July/10 August. This day is one of an increased gladness for us, being the first anniversary of the celebration during which His Eminence blessed our new church building and sanctified it for the divine services of the Orthodox Church.

St. Irene is, of course, widely known and widely venerated by the faithful, both for the example of her extraordinary holiness and for the countless miracles worked through her intercession. It is a special blessing for our Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of Greece that the center of her worldwide devotion for a century has been and remains the sacred monastery in Lykovrisi that is under the spiritual authority of our Holy Synod. Now we are in the process of establishing a center of this sacred devotion here in our humble Church in Washington Township, Michigan, the only parish of the Holy Metropolis dedicated to St. Irene, so that our Church in North America may have its own place of pilgrimage, worship, and supplication, where to obtain the favor of our beloved saint, in her mighty intercession before the throne of the Savior.

We invite all of our pious brethren to send us the names of their beloved living and reposed ones for commemoration at the Divine Liturgy on the day of St. Irene. There is no required or set donation for this sacred offering; let everyone give - or not give! - in accordance with his or her ability and spiritual desire. All donations, and especially your prayers on our behalf, will be gratefully received. All the faithful who submit names for commemoration will also receive portions of the apples blessed on the feast of St. Irene, as long as we have your postal address.

Those who wish to submit their commemoration lists electronically may send them to Fr. Steven at frstevenallen@gmail.com

Donations made through the Internet, please use https://saint-irene.com/donations

Commemoration lists and donations sent by mail should be addressed to:

St. Irene of Chrysovalantou G.O.C. 3000 28 Mile Road Washington Township, Michigan 48094

Attn: Fr. Steven - commemorations.

Through the intercessions of St. Irene of Chrysovalantou, may we all continue in faith, prayer, and good works, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls!

With love in Christ,

Steven Allen, Presbyter

Leonidas Pittos, Presbyter
