Fr. Leonidas's Background
Ph.D. - University of Chicago - 2015

Ordained to Deaconate - 2020
Ordained to the Priesthood - 2021
A life-long Midwesterner, Fr. Leonidas attended the University of Chicago, receiving a Ph.D. in 2015 in Byzantine Studies.
Tapping into his passion and love for his Byzantine heritage, Fr. Leonidas joined Wayne State University as an associate professor of Ancient Greek, Modern Greek, and Ancient, Medieval, and Modern Greek History .
After serving the church as a tonsured reader and expert chanter for over 20 years, Fr. Leonidas was called to a higher level of service, being ordained to the Diaconate in November of 2020.
Fr. Leonidas was once again called to a higher level of service for the orthodox church, being ordained to the priesthood by Metropolitan Demetrius of America in 2021. His dedication to the church is felt throughout the mid-west, as he supports many parishes in need, by serving as many divine services and sacraments for the people as he is physically able to.
